Christopher has over twenty-five years of experience advising diversified financial institutions on federal and state consumer financial services laws and regulations affecting retail banking activities, mortgage, consumer lending, digital banking and fintech. He has held senior leadership positions in the Legal Departments of several large financial institutions.
Christopher has extensive experience advising on the legal and regulatory requirements related to: TILA, RESPA, ECOA, FDCPA, SAFE Act, Fair Lending, FCRA, EFTA, UDAAP, GLBA, Dodd-Frank Act, BSA-AML, OCC Heightened Standards along with Government Sponsored Entities (Fannie Mae-Freddie Mac), VA, and HUD requirements.
He has advised on managing regulatory relationships, negotiated Consent Orders, advised on Matters Requiring Attention, Enforcement Actions and Licensing issues with federal and state bank and consumer protection regulators, including the CFPB, OCC, FRB, FDIC and Attorney General offices.
Christopher has also managed and successfully advised on significant enforcement, remediations and class-actions relating to Fair Lending, RESPA Section 8, UDAAP, False Claims Act, SCRA-MLA and violations of state consumer protection statutes.
Christopher holds a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School and a Bachelor of Science from Niagara University. Christopher is a member of the Governing Committee of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law.
Christopher is admitted to the practice of law in the states of North Carolina and Ohio.
